Vision & Mission


AmCham Turkey/ABFT's main mission is to act as a bridge between Turkey and the U.S. to further improve bilateral trade, investments and relations, and to support Turkey's economic development by strengthening the business environment and stimulating foreign direct investments.


AmCham Turkey/ABFT aspires to be a trusted and credible thought leader that helps accelerate improvement in the business environment, working in partnership with U.S. businesses, foreign investors, and local decision-makers.

Code of Ethics

Purpose: The purpose of this code of ethics is to guide ABFT members and staff in their interactions and outline the ideals we wish to live up to. In addition, it will provide a guideline for how we do our work as well as guiding our choices of activities and actions.

Ethical Integrity

We demand of ourselves and others the highest ethical standards, and our conduct as a company and as individuals within it will always reflect the highest standards of integrity. We will demonstrate open, honest and ethical behavior in all dealings with customers, colleagues, investors, business partners, suppliers and public and government representatives. We will avoid conduct that is deceptive or misleading.

We recognize our obligation to disclose fully to an affected member or client any conflicts of interest resulting from business affiliations or personal interests and to avoid or resolve through disclosure and waiver conflicts of interest.


Teamwork is central to our work and we will strive to work in a spirit of cooperation for the mutual benefit of our member companies, government and private sector representatives and all those we deal with. ABFT members and staff shall collaborate to jointly create and develop ideas, projects and events in the best interests of the association and members.

We know that to be successful we must work together, frequently transcending organisational and geographic boundaries to meet changing needs. We want all our colleagues and partners to contribute to the best of their abilities, individually and in teams. Teamwork improves the quality of decisions and increases the likelihood that good decisions will be acted upon. Teamwork sustains a spirit of excitement, fulfillment, pride and passion, enabling us to succeed in all of our endeavours and continually learn as individuals and as an organization.

Social Responsibility

ABFT will support its members’ corporate social responsibility projects as appropriate toward Turkey’s economic and social development and will conduct their activities with respect for the public interest.

We affirm our obligation to protect fundamental human rights and to respect the diversity of all cultures and will ensure that the products of our efforts will be used in socially responsible ways, will meet social needs, and will avoid harmful effects to health and welfare.

We will play an active role in making every community in which we operate a better place to live and work, knowing that the ongoing vitality of our national and local communities has a direct impact on the long term health of our business.

ABFT staff and members will respect confidential information entrusted to them by members and contacts and will maintain the highest levels of privacy and confidentiality regarding business and private records and information. Private and confidential information will only be disclosed with permission.

The personal data of staff and members is considered confidential information. When collecting, processing, viewing or storing this data the necessary precautions will be taken to ensure its protection and privacy.

Compliance with the Law

ABFT staff and members are required to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, both foreign and domestic and to not engage in any illegal activity or practices. We will not condone any violation of the law or unethical business dealing by any employee, including participation in illegal acts such as bribery or money laundering.
